Manufacturer-made boot liners
Car companies make their own boot liners to fit the vehicles they manufacture. You can often choose them as extras when you buy a car. They may be discounted with the price of the car, or you can buy them separately at full price.
The main benefit of manufacturer-made products is that they are from a brand you can trust. However, they may be made with lower quality material and not be fully suitable to your needs. Most manufacturer-made boot liners use the ‘tray’ design, meaning they are placed on the floor and have a slightly raised lip to stop spillages. They do not protect the boot walls or the back of seats.
Quick facts
- Most dealerships supply these boot liners, but you’ll be paying high prices for a liner that protects only part of your boot.
- Genuine Honda boot liners can be hard to find. You may find them on websites such as eBay and Gumtree, but always check that they’re authentic before you buy.
- Most models are either boot trays or rubber mats with a lip.
- Different models have different grip patterns.
Universal boot liners
Universal boot liners are designed to fit as many different models of car as possible. They are cheap and sold in lots of places, but these benefits come at a price. They are often designed as a ‘one-size-fits-all’. This means the universal boot liner is unlikely to fit your boot perfectly, which can cause debris and liquid to fall between the boot liner and the boot.
Universal boot liners are often a cheap alternative designed for a few uses. If you are planning to use your car boot often, it is worth investing in alternative types of boot liners.
Quick facts
- Come in three standard sizes: small, medium, large. These sizes won’t fit your boot perfectly and you may need to cut them down.
- Rarely come with accessories for added protection. You can buy other branded products but they may not work well together.
- Often just rubber mats, so don’t protect the walls of your boot or the back seats.
Custom-made Honda boot liners
Custom-made boot liners are designed to fit your car’s boot perfectly. They are often produced using higher-quality materials, which makes them more expensive. However, if you’re looking for a boot liner that will last for a long time, it’s hard to beat the custom-made design.
You will often find the custom-made boot liners offering accessories that can provide more protection for your car, as well as added comfort for your pet
